The Independent Living Recommitment letter that Liberators for Justice is hosting has been promoted by a second major IL network. Yesterday, the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) sent about 600 member organizations a strong endorsement for signing on to the values presented to Centers for Independent Living (CILs) and Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs) earlier this year. Independent Living Research Utilization (ILRU), another national IL network based in Houston had previously distributed the letter to its membership. More than 130 organizations and individuals have already pledged their support.
